Hummingbird Sighting
Sightings report image

Date: 09/15/2013

Number: 1

Arrived home around 6pm to see a juvenile male Ruby-throat perched near the feeders in the side yard. Watched him on and off for about an hour as the day turned to darkness. He took a little time to figure out the feeders. He also visited the late blooming hosta's and a hanging flower basket that still has a few blooms. Pretty certain he is a migrant passing through. Got a photo, not the greatest, but still adorable and cute and I am sure he would want me to post it. It will be interesting to see if he is here in the morning. 53 degrees now, at 9pm and do not think it is supposed to get that cold. Hope he fuels up a daybreak and continues on his way...
