Had 4 at the feeders first thing this morning. Have one female that prefers perching on a branch tip on a lilac tree. But did not see her perching there this morning. But she still comes to nearby feeder. Looks like 3 or 4 other hummers we had have booked south. The hummers stopped fighting to feed last night just before going to roost for the night. Might have a 5th hummer hanging around but hard to tell. They don't sit still long enough to tell if there are 4 or 5.

Had frost on the rooftops this morning so temps dropped to at least 32 degrees overnight. Last year our last hummer left on Sept. 26. Not sure they'll hang around that long this year.
