Saw two Monarchs today; one was feeding on lantana, the other was laying eggs on milkweed.
I've collected 6 eggs.
Have had some success with Gulf Fritillary-just released four butterflies. But I raised those from caterpillar stage. If anyone has good suggestions about raising Monarch larvae, I'd appeciate hearing it. For now I have them on milkweed leaves which are placed atop damp paper towels.
Since most of my milkweed is covered w/aphids,it seems I'll have to harvest it leaf by leaf and clean it up. Will the cats be content to eat off the floor of the container, or do I need to rig up something to get it above ground?
