Sightings report image

Number: 75

They're baaack!! It's amazing that yesterday the count jumped from the drop of `25 to near 75! Some of the feeders are crowded again after the several day lull. What I find amazing is that my little unknown female is still protecting "her" feeder after 2 weeks. I watched another incredible duel between what looked like young male Rubies. They would ascend to about 100-150 feet while doing the war dance. Then a chase would ensue until one broke off with a high-g turn. This continued at least 4 times until I found the feeder on the north corner that was being guarded. The little bird took on all comers, even attacking multiple birds at once. The image I attached is of a back lit Ruby while I was trying to get a shot of a very crowded 3 tier feeder with the Sun behind it.
