Two fat-bellied hummers were nectaring on Tithonia, Penta, and other flowers this evening in our garden. As I watched one of the hummers sip from a Texas Milkweed flower, I spotted a Monarch caterpillar on the stem of the same flower! What a surprise, as I've been checking the milkweed regularly for Monarch cats; took the caterpillar in for rearing with the rest of the brood - grateful that the hummer pointed it out and helped me find it :)
