A few weeks ago, I planted a milkweed species in my garden. There were no eggs or larvae that I could see. September 15th, I counted 13 larvae, and 3 eggs! So one or more adult monarchs in my area must have come by and laid at least 16 eggs)
In the past two to three weeks, I released two adult female monarch females which I raised at home from (3) larvae I found on a milkweed on my porch. (Frogs ate the first larvae, so I brought the surviving two inside.) Both adult monarchs were healthy and eager to fly as I released them.
