William Beck reports to the SoWestLeps: "back west to the Coronado Memorial where along the roadside saw perhaps a dozen big Monarch's crossing to the south..most I've seen for awhile." In personal communication he added,"Yes, they were definitely nectaring. When leaving flowers my impression was they were generally southbound...of those I watched photo'd, I was struck by the seeming uni direction of flight as I thought a little early for migration."
