Saw first monarch in several weeks. This one looked like it just hatched as it had no damage to its wings and looked fresh. It has been hanging around my butterfly bushes all day.
I also have a monarch caterpillar on the tropical milkweed I planted this year. So far it has escaped all predators. Had two caterpillars previously, one quite large, when they both disappeared. I suspect wasps were the guilty party.
