My 4th grade class collected this Monarch when it was in larvae stage (from native milkweed)and watched as it grew and changed to chrysalis. Ten days after this change it appeared in its adult stage as a butterfly. She enjoyed the day in the classroom and then was released into the warm afternoon air. It quickly flew to this nearby tree to roost and warm for the long journey south.
