Monarch Adult Sighted

Date: 09/18/2013

Number: 1

Students found an adult monarch in our school garden. Its wings were crumpled, the left wing torn along the edge. We gave it water, then sugar water. We watched it slurp it up for several minutes. It cannot fly. We wonder if it is fresh out of a chrysalis, if it is at the end of its life, or if it was just injured.
