We have several hummers who have called our backyard home since July 23. One is a first year male (small red patch of feathers on his throat). We call him Shelly after the character Sheldon on the TV show Big Bang Theory, because he has his own particular spot to sit -- in the crabapple tree opposite the Black and Blue Salvia. He and the others will probably head south in a couple of weeks.
