Hummingbird Sighting

Date: 09/19/2013

Number: 2

Around 7 am 2 were sitting on the feeder. They sat huddled together for minutes. After drinking the one (both are juvies) looked to me like they were trying to mate, one was going on the others back flapping their wings for a couple seconds then took off. Do hummers breed in the fall? They would sit for a minutes again & then the same pattern. The previous evening there were also 2, but the one was smaller than I have ever seen & could have cared less that we were close by. Never seen one so small & its beak was so small & thin. I wonder if it was one of this years babies.
