Hummingbird Sighting
Sightings report image

Date: 09/20/2013

Number: 4

Once again for a third day in a row I continue to observe four females (3 adults and 1 juvenile), at our patio feeders. Last night temperatures held in the mid to upper 50's and today is expected to be close to 80 degrees for a high. However, a cold front is expected tomorrow, dropping daily high temperatures into the 60's and low's at night into the 40's. These four hummers appear to be the remainder of my 2013 season regulars as they are not the least bit skittish of my close presence around the feeders. The plumpest of the four continues to prefer the Rose-of-Sharon blooms over the feeders. With the 2012 season last sighting date of 9/28 closely approaching and temperatures cooler this 2013 season, I continue to observe knowing each new sighting could be my last for the 2013 season. So today I will be spending additional time on the patio enjoying their presence and antics.
