Hummingbird Sighting

Date: 09/20/2013

Number: 2

We still have 2 juveniles at our feeders. They showed up about 2 1/2 weeks ago after the summer residents left. I was worried about them as they were small but I notice they are getting a little bigger. I change the cold nectar with warm every morning because they are a little sluggish in the morning.
I read that they shiver when they are cold to help keep them warm. I also read that if they get cold and they drink cold nectar they could perish from hypothermia. As recommended i'm going to mix stronger nectar to help them be ready for the migration. Gosh I worry about them hanging around to long and miss the migration if that's at all possible. Any comments are welcome.
