Here in Haines, Alaska, it feels very damp and rainy. We see fog now. Our leaves are turning colors such as brown, yellow, red, gray and orange. It is moose hunting season. Mushrooms are starting to grow. Trees are starting to lose branches because it is windy. The skunk cabbages are decomposing, and the Devil's Club leaves are droopy and changing color. There was a migrating merlin outside of town. The leaves are crunchy when we walk on them. It is starting to get chilly. We saw termination dust, which is the the first snow that tells us summer is over. The salmon are spawning which is bringing the eagles into out fair valley. The bears also come for the salmon and we see them by the river.
