Hummingbird Sighting

Date: 09/19/2013

Number: 1

Solo female still hanging around my yard that is still filled with fall flowering plants. Nectaring on black & blue sage and butterfly bush, lantana and mandeville vine. Daily black bear activity both day & night is destroying all of my many seed and syrup feeders and caused me to take down my remaining intact hummingbird feeders down. When the flowers are past prime, I will hang them back up from the 2nd story windows in hopes the bears won't climb the house walls to get the sweet sugar! It is hard to feed hummers syrup in bear country in the fall.
