Hummingbird Sighting

Date: 09/21/2013

Number: 4

Wow the hummers were active yesterday! We had some newbies hanging at the feeders. I assume they were migrating and hung out for the day and were all competing for the six feeders I have out. The resident juveniles didn't like it at all. It was very amusing watching them trying to chase the newbies away from the feeders. This went on all day and I was suprised it was almost dark until they went to nest. That may have been bcause it was raining and they liked hanging in our pourch. Oh yea, for the first time as I was messing with one of the feeders one of the juveniles hovered right in front of my face just looking at me.....now that was cool!
