Hummingbird Sighting
Sightings report image

Date: 09/22/2013

Number: 15

This is a definite jet lag feeling today.Ruby-throat hummingbirds have been in numbers compared to last season. They loved the rain, and the more it rained the more came. 30 plus have come and gone in three weeks time. They were flying in all spots and in every tree at least three in each tree direction of North/south east/west. All ruby-throats were within vicinity of this house with 8 feeders all around. The jet lag is in that they left at noon. The Rufous in photo has been here since Aug. 4th,2013(he is very hard to photo,) had fun defending his spot. He has been looking left and right for the Rubies that were here since noon. They are gone with the wind in the first day of fall. Only three Ruby-throat hummingbirds are left for the Rufous to play with, I think.
