Sightings report image

Date: 09/22/2013

Number: 1

Although silence has fallen near the feeders they will continue to hang and be supplied with fresh offerings for late travels. Much like the small female that appeared at mid day yesterday and gave me cause to smile another smile was provided today upon my return home after work. I choose to walk around to the patio before coming inside, and there perched on a branch directly over one of the feeders sat another lone traveler that needed a refreshing refueling of nectar and a brief rest. After several minutes of drinking she departed in a southwestward direction and I went about the evening with a huge smile. Temperatures only hit the high 60's today and is dipping down to 43 degrees tonight. Extended forecast lows for the next week are to be in the 40's. I think I can hold on to this smile till next April/May.
