I observed the 9 butterflies at 10:20am to 11:20 am and wonder if they were from the same overnight roost. Except for one Monarch that stopped to feed at my flowers, the others were flying over the treetops, about 25 feet or more. I watched one circle and circle as he climbed higher in the sky on rising thermals, seldom flapping his wings. The sky was clear, light breezes, temperatures in the 60's and low 70's.
