Saw hummingbirds land on the feeder a couple of times today. They were very active a few days ago, but diminished when ants took over the feeder. I added an ant trap and sticky tape near the bottom of the pole (where it wouldn't hurt the hummingbirds). Today, the yellow-jackets were back--I think because of the water in the ant trap.

So ... I took down the ant trap. Now the ants and the yellow-jackets are gone, but I haven't seen the hummers for a while either (even though I cleaned the feeder and refilled it with fresh nectar). Hopefully, they'll be back tomorrow. My Fuchsias are still blooming near the feeder, so hopefully that's helping them, too.

I will miss them when they're gone!
