Monarch Fall Roost

Date: 09/24/2013

Number: 100

After seeing the monarch numbers steadily increase today we were excited to see a roost of about 100 monarchs tonight. Again, on Stites Ave. in Cape May Point on the English Ivy vines. Yea ((-:

October 8 update

Unfortunately, it's been pretty slow since our September 24th update. We've had some monarchs moving in but not a big push yet and no other roosting. There have been lots of days with south and southwest winds which means not as many monarchs either. We're still hopeful that with as many caterpillars as we've seen that maybe it will be a late season for them this year. I've gotten on your site and noticed how few reports there are compared to other years. But, I had been hopeful when someone in Ontario was reporting monarchs after we had the 100 here, thinking maybe they are still on their way. I"ll let you know if they arrive.
