My wife and I observed about 12 butterflies an hour passing thru Myrtle beach SC from Sept 19 to Sept 24. We were on a vacation for a week here.

They were Monarchs. I caught some of them to check on their conditions. I know what the gulf frit. looks like and these were not them. These were not frazzled wings, but relatively "new" Monarchs. I caught at least 10 and the majority were males.
