One very small, unknown (did not see this one before)hummingbird feeding for a long drink at my flying saucer type feeder... this one was on 9/26/13. I saw another larger one on 9/25/13 and a huge one on 9/20/13 .. the huge one did not feed because I had left the sugar water in the feeder too long and some ants got into it ... I changed it, but he did not come back. I felt so bad .. I know he needed a drink to keep his metabolism going!
I had one other bird CLAIMING another upright jar feeder for a couple of days around 9/16/17/18.... he would sit up on the electrical wire and chase others away .. and then would feed for lengthy periods. and then he too was gone on his migration south I guess ..... I'll miss them all. Last year, the last sighting was about 9/01/12 .. We were luckier this time!
