Hummingbird Sighting

Date: 09/22/2013

Number: 1

This one hung around all afternoon and well into the evening, so we assume she spent the night as well before taking flight. She was fat, so we knew she was there to stock up. On top of the two feeders we still keep full until mid-October (due to our last sighting in 2011 on October 14), we have a goldfish plant in a pot that our hummers love, so we put that under the umbrella at night to prevent frost. It's the only flowering plant left in our yard for hummers at this point, so we are taking extra good care of it.
