I tagged 32 in just over an hour at Lynde Shores (next to Cranberry Marsh Hawk Watch). This is the same place I tagged over 50 on Wednesday. As reported by Don re. other locations, some of the people who are regulars at Lynde Shores remarked that they are seeing more monarchs now than they have all summer. At a similar date a year ago we tagged 5.
It does look as if we are observing a late surge. Hopefully there will be enough nectar sources to enable their journey southward!
