Hummingbird Sighting
Sightings report image

Date: 09/29/2013

Number: 1

At 6pm, I spotted a small round bird that I could not identify. I commented that it looked like a very fat hummingbird, but really thought it was another type of bird. I grabbed my camera to help identify it. It then flew to some flowers and proved that it was indeed a ruby-throated hummingbird. A real treat to see a hummingbird 5 days after my last sighting. I had already started to prepare fresh sugar water and now my feeder is again ready if the hummingbird returns tomorrow morning. At least it looks like it has really fattened up for the journey.
