We returned to the area where butterflies had roosted the night before, and there were more, roosting in the cottonwoods by the road. The fields along these roads are covered with sunflowers and goldenrod, and if you follow the lake roads those nectaring sites go on for several miles to the south with patches of agricultural fields that lie fallow with blooming weeds.
