My neighbor and I put out hummingbird feeders. We think there were 2 males and 2-3 females, at least. They started visiting in late July, early August and we last saw them this past week (9/25/13) They spent quite a bit of time chasing each other away from the feeders - the females seemed to prefer mine and the males took over my neighbors. They were not afraid of us and let me get quite close to take pictures. This was the first time I encountered their "chatter" and it was delightful!
