Monarch Adult Sighted

Date: 10/01/2013

Number: 2

Around 5pm while watering flower beds a big beautiful monarch was sitting on the flower of my blue salvia. I watched and tried not to disturb it, then it move to another bud for a few minutes. Looked like it was eating(?). Then I thought to take a picture and it moved off while I tried to turn on camera phone I followed but lost sight of it.Missed photo.
Later an hour or so in my house I heard noises and saw what I thought was a bird caught in the house fluttering at the windows. I went to see what it was and it was a huge monach. I looked twice because it was making so much noise I had to be sure it was a butterfly the wing span was so big. I tried to gently to coax it but no luck. My windows are too tall even stood on piano. He rested on 3 sill up I left him alone. went back to try to put him out and scared him on to the light fixture where I hope he will rest until I can somehow get him out. Just wondered if he will live or if I can do something else to save him and get back outside.
