Separate sighting in fields around the roost: 87 sighted in all not counting butterflies that took to the cottonwood. 21 on the west side of the road, 66 on the East side. There were probably more than that, because some parts of this sunflower field are not visible from the roadside and it extends a couple hundred yards to the highway directly South, and for at least half a mile going both east and west of the bridge. There are also extensive sunflower/goldenrod fields across the bridge crossing I-240 that go on for several miles in every direction. We noted that there were many more males in this bunch than in the first days sightings.
