Monarch Larva Sighted

Date: 10/02/2013

Number: 1

Two adult Monarchs nectaring on tropical milkweed around noon today. They seem fresh, so I suspect they emerged this morning from chrysalises on the property. We still have caterpillars on the tropical, Swan and Common Milkweed. On the perimeter of the house, I count seven (7) viable chrysalises, pearlescent green with a gold band, and two (2) recently vacated chrysalises. Here's a link to a Picasa web album of 20 photos.
