Once again a single Monarch butterfly feeding for approximately 1h on butterfly bushes in our front yard. Rain is expected overnight and for most of the next couple of days, so I expect this will be the last sighting this year of a monarch in our garden. Then again, I have expected this for at least one week, so who knows, it seems that many of the other reports on Monarch sightings frequently express their surprise at the late sightings of Monarchs this year. We shall see if we get the pleasure of one more sighting after the rain.
