22 second graders in my Thursday science class each planted a bulb with help from three dads and a mom. I planted one first to show how and one for an absent student. The parents helped each child use a bulb planter while I had the remaining children make observational labeled drawings of soil samples from our garden. They found grubs, worms, and an ant all living. For non-living things, they found rocks, sticks, bark, and dead grasses.
