The sole survivor of a batch of monarch larvae I ordered eclosed this morning. After a couple of hours, I tagged and released. It was a female. I noticed that it looked ready to eclose and photographed the chrysalis. I just missed the actual eclosure, but I took photos when she was still chrysalis-shaped and as she pumped up her wings, etc. Took a movie of my tagging her and letting her go. It was a great experience. Maybe next year I can do more.
