Haven't seen a hummer at our feeder in over 2 weeks. Took it down and stored it away for the winter YESTERDAY. At noon today, to my utter shock, just moments before a driving rain storm struck, a single juvenile or female was frantically flitting from lantana to lantana. It finished up nectaring at my two still-flowering pots, then flew up into the partially denuded red maple. The wind started lashing the tree - and it launched off the branch and disappeared, heading SOUTH! Fly safe, little one!!
