Friday afternoon around 4pm while launching my kayak I saw several monarchs flitting around among the salt bushes along Santa Rosa Sound (at Portofino Resort). Then I saw several monarchs from my kayak (1 or 2 at a time) flying over the sound. It was a beautiful mostly sunny day with just a light breeze. I was glad that tropical storm Karen fizzled and hopefully these monarchs make it to Mexico.
