After torrential rain storms last night, today was sunny with a crisp strong north wind and temps were in the low 60's. Around 2 pm I spotted 34 monarchs feeding on golden rod. The strong wind was a challenge for the monarchs, blowing them off the golden rod. They congregated in an area that was partly sheltered from the wind so they could replenish their reserves. Temps are supposed to drop below normal over the next few nights to low 50's with rain returning tomorrow night and Friday.
