Scarborough Bluffer's Park on the shores of Lake Ontario has always been a place where there are many Monarch butterflies. Twenty-nine years ago when we moved here, there were hundreds. As the park has been expanded we've seen the numbers go down. I've been reading about fewer and fewer Monarchs this year - and it's been ascribed to lack of milkweed - yet there is still lots of milkweed by the lake. Hence I was surprised this morning during a walk to count seven. I am assuming that means there are more. I am not a teacher, just an individual who has lived here a long time.
