Bald Eagle

Date: 10/08/2013

Number: 1

My wife and I were driving from Sheffield IA to Dougherty IA. Almost mid-way between the two towns we spotted the greatest sight I think I will ever see. Alot of big black crows/ravens were circling a road kill. Thank Dawn she spotted this in time, she slowed to around 30 or so. Off the side of the road came this beautiful bird. He was in the westbound lane and flew across both lanes (we were going East). he went south maybe 500 yards and perched on a high tree. I have seen eagles a few times when I lived in MN not so much IA and so close. I hope people will PLEASE slow down a help this glorious bird into our lives again.
