On October 8th, the count for monarchs flying past on part of the sky was 197 in 1.5 hours. I am 1.5 miles east of Cherokee, TX. I have not seen nearly this many in the 10 years we have lived here. On our place they like Dwarf Crownbeard instead of the Golden Crownbread others tell me they like. We have both.
Editor's Note: A roost was present at this location the night of 8 October (59 monarchs) and 9 October (97 monarchs).
