Seen today: 2 rubythroats; 1 rufous
We briefly saw 2 rubythroats at the feeder this morning, but not throughout the day. We think they were both females. We also still have an adult rufous hummer with us, and he's been here since August 24. He was banded by a licensed hummingbird bander on August 26. This is the fourth different rufous hummer we’ve had in our yard since April of 2011. One of them overwintered with us last year, staying here from October 2012 until April 2013. It looks like this little guy is here to stay too, but I’ll keep posting to let you know.
