On a beautiful, mild afternoon I drove to Hawley PA to visit a migration corridor I've been checking - at a Butterfly Garden maintained by PA Power and Light (PPL). A male monarch was feeding at a Buddleia bush ca. 2:15 p.m. An hour later he was still alone. Since late August I've averaged three afternoon visits/week and counted 31 monarchs. PPL's peak was 9/28, when 9 migrants passed thru. My hunch is that today's monarch may be the last for 2013.
