Monarch PEAK Migration

Date: 10/13/2013

Number: 80

These were seen late afternoon to early evening near an almost-dried up lake. Most were feeding on Baccharis neglecta or flying into an interior area of trees. This fall, unlike past years, I have not seen a single monarch feeding on sunflowers, lantana or any other yellow flower. In the past these have been prime sources (along with milkweed and poverty weed).
