Monarch Fall Roost
Sightings report image

Date: 10/11/2013

Number: 200

For night of Oct 11-12. Checked two larger groves starting at 2015. The image is from a grove dominated by Live Oak. The monarchs are mostly on a small Live Oak underneath several much larger ones. The larger heart shaped leaves are Greenbriar, an abundant vine. There are 50 Monarchs in the image and a couple more just out of frame. A few smaller cluster in this and other groves and trees, but also many, many singles, twos and threes widely distributed. Some singles can be seen near the edges of this image.
