Monarch Fall Roost
Sightings report image

Date: 10/14/2013

Number: 22

Today was a partly sunny/cloudy day with temps @ 60 degrees and a moderate South wind. I spotted 22 monarchs from 3 pm to 5:30. Although the temp was 60, the cool wind effected the monarchs, some shivered their wings to increase their body temperature while others took to roosting in a sunny spot in the pine trees to warm their wings. They looked healthy, but took to an early roost starting at 3 pm.

Temps tonight are expected in the 40's.
