I have just seen a humming bird! I did not even know that they were present in Ontario! It flew past me on my deck this morning and was feeding on a hanging plant I have. Happened at 915am. Was only present 30 seconds or so and then flew off. I knew it was a humming bird because of its size - at first i thought it was a huge moth...then I saw its wings flapping like crazy...and then it went to the hanging plant and inseted its beak into the flowers while flapping all the time - it didnt land anywhere, just kept flapping! Amazing site - i was going to run in for my camera but glad now that I didnt as it was only there for seconds and i would have missed it. Sigh. What a wonderful start to the day.
