Signs of Fall

Date: 10/16/2013

Number: 1000

I've never seen anything like this. Hundreds or even thousands of butterflies where all flying south along with the winds of a cold front that was just blowing in. It looked as though they where just gliding on the winds rather than flying. The sky was completely dotted and most of them stayed above tree top level. The ones that did come down to rest on places like my car and trees I think are monarchs. I know there are a lot of people out there who enjoy the wildlife and stuff so thats why I decided to share this. Also, I apologize in advance if these butterflies turn out to be something other than monarchs. I’ve never seen any other butterflies like these in my area. Even if they are monarchs or not, being able to witness a migration like this was still a pretty cool experience for my family and me.
