Saw more monarchs (and other butterflies!) than I have ever seen in my life. Never has the migration brought so many monarchs through my yard. Over 1k monarchs an hour, easily, were seen floating by my 1 acre property. From ground level up to to trees--nothing but butterflies! They flooded the town just before a northern came through, and lasted until sundown...roughly three hours of monarchs before the setting sun rushed them to a resting place. Many stopped to feed on Gregg's Mist Flower, Zinnias, Vitex, Giant Milkweed, and Jatropha, among others. I didn't think I would see so many other species of butterflies come through with them, but it was truly a sight to see!
