Monarch Larva Sighted
Sightings report image

Date: 10/16/2013

Number: 11

18:00. 60 degrees. I noticed one, then looked around and found 11 total. All were 5th instars. Also found 7 Queen larvae, both 4th and 5th instars. On A. asperula and A. viridis. Not quite sunset, but all were in locations already shaded by terrain and trees. Also somewhat protected from wind.

I'm not too surprised by the larva sightings down on the gulf coast, but it seems more unusual here, where the shortest line to the ocean is 270 miles.
